Union County High School • Television PSA Contest

Think you have what it takes to help make a difference?

Write your own commercial...if you win, you could see it on TV.

This is an opportunity for students to send a positive message to their peers and communities that underage drinking
does not have to be a part of their activities by creating, acting in and producing a 30 second television PSA.
Cash prizes are awarded to the winning schools.
THE WINNING SCHOOL RECEIVES $1000
1ST RUNNER UP RECEIVES $500
2ND RUNNER UP RECEIVES $250
Past winners include Hillside, Roselle Park, and Westfield High Schools, just to name a few.
The Contest ends April 20, 2012 so don’t delay in getting your creative teams together.
The top five winners will be selected through a judging panel of county representatives and from there, the top three winners will be selected through an online voting process. Have fun and good luck!

  • Contest is open to all Union County high school students
  • Multiple teams from a school may enter
  • You can enter competing teams of two to six students
  • One student cannot participate in more than three teams

In addition, the top five videos from our contest will automatically be entered by Prevention Links into the Mothers Against Drunk Driving Power of You(th) National PSA Contest
MADD is asking teens to take a stand and create a short video to encourage their peers to avoid drinking alcohol and never get in a car with someone who's been drinking.  By entering in this contest, your school agrees to enter into the M.A.D.D Power of You(th) Video Contest. In the event of a team winning the M.A.D.D. Power ofYou(th) Video Contest, the schools’ department will win the prizes and awards. No one individual will be recognized. Any trips won during the Power of You(th) Video Contest, the school will then pick a representative who may be invited to participate in two M.A.D.D. events. The top five finalists of this national project will win a new iPad and a spot in MADD’s National Teen Influencer Group, madeup of teens from across the nation interested in helping tackle this problem.  For more information on the Mothers Against Drunk Driving Power of You(th) Video Contest, please visit www.madd.org/powerofyouth.

Entries must be postmarked by April 20, 2012 and mailed to the address below.  Each team must submit one Entry Form along with their script, storyboard and DVD.  Unfortunately, entries that are received later than 5:00 p.m. on April 20th will be ineligible for consideration.
