In Memory of Amber...

For most life is a marathon, for Amber it was a race
She approached each day with an unmatched pace.

Out living each breath leaving nothing to waste
Amber did it her way with an Amazing Grace.

Like each of us, she was lost and now she is found
We watch her ascend to heaven with our feet on the ground.

Behind she left a clan forever tightly bound
Together we search in silence listening for a sound.

Longing one last time to hear that special voice
Amber taught her world a lesson that life is a choice...
It's your decision to let moments in time slip away
Some try just to keep up and that's where they're destined to stay...
Watching happiness and dreams slowly decay
While some choose to live life like it's their very last day.

Amber led in the race and now we follow together
Chasing memories of joy we all share forever.

The wake of night's candles burn bright shining with her smile
Giving family and friends shared remembrance of hope and love for a while...
Glowing angels flutter in the beat of our collective heart
Amber was meant for greatness from the very first start.

To be Amber for one day most would give up before lunch
Struggling to keep up with that personality packed punch...
She knocked all of us out with her unique Amber way
Leaving us choices every second till we're old and gray...
To go after life's moments with passionate pursuit
And cherish our loved ones from the branches to the root.

A piece of her will last in the reflection of our eyes
Seeing life possibilities with our limits the skies.

She lives on within all those she touched deep down in our soul
While she peers on from the heavens taking an afternoon stroll.

Because of You

Because of you, all of your friends and family have been given the strength to get through this unexplainable and unexpected tragedy. Although there are times when we may bow our heads and mourn, or shed tears of sadness, it is because of you, that in the end, each and every one of us have been able to keep our heads high and smile. "Amber would have wanted it that way." everyone says. And because you were always such a "spitfire" as Mom has been referring to you the past few days, a beautiful glowing child as I heard Dad reminisce, and a feisty princess as many others have labeled you as, your friends and family can look back on their memories of you and smile, instead of cry. Because of you, we can recall on unforgettable stories that so perfectly reflect who you were as a person, and laugh. Like how you would announce that the princess was here upon your arrival to anywhere. You were always the life of the party, so outgoing and real. You never held back. You never failed to make your audience laugh. Your glow spread across the room. Most importantly, because of you, we can all now see how precious life truly is. Your friends and family now know to never take anyone or anything for granted. You have brought hundreds of family and friends together that will now never let years go by again without calling on another. You were a blessing to each and every one of us, and because of you, Amber, we have all been touched by an angel.

"The boy whispered, 'God speak to me.'
And a bird sang
"The boy yelled, 'God, I can't hear you.'
And thunder roared.
Still the boy did not hear.
So the boy said, 'God, let me see you.'
And a star shone.
But the boy did not see.
He cried out, 'God perform a miracle.'
And a child was born.
But the boy did not know.
The boy became angry and screamed. 'God, let me know you are near!'
God bent down and touched the boy's shoulder.
And the boy brushed the butterfly from his shoulder.
And walked away, unknowingly."

I'm Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free.
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took God's hand when I heard the call;
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found that place at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembering joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss.
Ah yes, these things, I too, will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief;
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me -
God wanted me now, God set me free.

To all Parents

I'll lend you for a little time a daughter of mine, He said.
For you to love the while she lives, and mourn for when she's dead

It may be two or three short years or twenty two or three
But will you not till I call Her, take care of her for me?
She'll bring her charms to gladden you, and should her stay be brief

You'll have her lovely memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise that she will stay, since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there I want this daughter to learn.

I've looked the wide world over in my search for teachers true,
And from the thongs that crowd life's lane, I have selected you.

Now will you give her all your love, nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate Me when I come to call to take her back again?
I fancied that I heard them say, "Dear Lord, Thy will be done."
For all the joys thy daughter shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run.

We'll shelter her with tenderness, We'll love her while we may,
And for the happiness we've known, forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for her much sooner than we've planned,

We'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand"

Butterflies

Butterflies delicate,
butterflies blue,
butterflies still
remind me of you.

We are here for a while,
then we go gone,
but not forgotten,
for we will be changed into something more beautiful.

Like the butterfly,
we do not really die,
but shed only our outer shell.

We then become even more radiant,
when in our glory,
with Him we shall dwell.

So my child do not grieve,
when I say good-bye,
for to the the child of God,
death has not sting.

For we are transformed into new creatures,
in garments of white.
While singing His praises,
we are filled with His Light.
