The Amber Pizzo Memorial Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to the memory of Amber Pizzo, a member of the GLHS Class of 1996.  The Fund has been established to assist others to follow in Amber’s footsteps by awarding an annual scholarship to a graduating senior interested in pursuing a college degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education with a preference for K-6 preparation.

All graduating GLHS students who intend to enroll in a pre-education program and meet the stated criteria may apply. The 2008 scholarship is in the amount of $3,000. To apply you must complete the Application Form available through the GLHS Guidance Office or online.(you can either click link and print or right click and "save target as")

The following criteria will be considered in making scholarship decisions:

• High school grade point average

(Minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 scale required. Full transcript verification through the junior year required along with report card for the most recent marking period.)


• Three (3) letters of recommendation

• Description of work experience with children of youth

• Honors and extracurricular activities

• Statement of Purpose

The selection committee includes presiding Fund officers. Submit your completed application form to the GLHS Guidance Office.

Completed applications must be received by April 11, 2008
